Apple Renamed Its Supplier Report. The 2026 Edition Has Not Appeared

Apple’s annual account of its supplier work no longer carries the name it used for over a decade. The document once called the Supplier Responsibility Progress Report is now the “People and Environment in Our Supply Chain Progress Report,” and Apple’s own newsroom archive does not show a 2026 edition under either name as of this writing.

Apple’s current lineup, including iPhone 18 Pro and AirPods 5, continues to ship from the same supplier network this report is meant to describe, even without a fresh edition this year.

A report with two names

Apple published its 13th annual Supplier Responsibility Progress Report in March 2019, following the 12th annual edition in March 2018. That title, and the annual cadence it implies, ran for years before Apple changed it. Apple’s supply chain material now refers to the same body of work as the “People and Environment in Our Supply Chain Progress Report.” Apple has not published a newsroom release explaining the rename itself.

What changed, based only on the name

The new title adds “Environment” explicitly to a report that was previously framed around suppliers alone, and drops “Responsibility” from the title entirely. Apple has not published a statement describing why, when the rename took effect, or whether the report’s structure or contents changed along with its name. Everything beyond the two titles is Apple’s own naming choice.

The gap in 2026

Based on Apple’s own newsroom archive, no edition of the report under either name appears to have been published in 2026 as of September 12. That does not mean Apple has abandoned the report. Historical annual editions have sometimes appeared at different points in the year, and Apple’s other 2026 supply chain material, including its April 2026 environmental progress report and its Houston Advanced Manufacturing Center announcement in August, both continued through the year without a combined supplier progress report attached.

What still gets published without the report

Even without a fresh annual report, Apple has continued publishing pieces of this work separately in 2026: the Advanced Manufacturing Center in Houston opened August 13, and Apple’s April 2026 environmental progress report covered manufacturing energy and material figures. What has not appeared alongside those is the specific supplier-conduct reporting that used to arrive under the Supplier Responsibility Progress Report name, such as an aggregate look at supplier assessments across the year.

Why the name matters for anyone searching Apple’s own record

A reader looking for Apple’s most recent supplier responsibility figures by searching the old title will not find a 2026 result under that name. The current title is the one to search, and even that turns up no 2026 edition in Apple’s newsroom as of this writing. The Code of Conduct and forced-labor documents remain published regardless of whether a new annual report appears, and Apple’s own iOS 27 release on September 14 does not touch on any of this reporting.

What Apple has not said

Apple has not published a reason for the title change, a date it took effect, or confirmation of whether an edition covering 2025 or 2026 supplier work is still coming. Apple has not said whether the annual report will continue on the same yearly schedule it kept for over a decade.

Apple’s fiscal year runs through late September, and further public filings typically follow in the weeks after; whether a supply chain progress report accompanies them has not been announced as of September 12, 2026.
